Josh Vasquez primarily works in painting by creating imagery that captures the essence his home of Los Angeles, such as sunsets, graffiti, and palm trees. He was born and raised in Pico-Union and his current work focuses on the changing nature of his neighborhood, as well as other parts of Los Angeles. In addition to his paintings, he explores similar themes in his drawing and sculpture. He studied and earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from California State University of Long Beach.
He has recently shown at __Flatline, Los Angeles Water School, and the South Pasadena Public Library.
He is currently showing at South Bay Contemporary’s Fresh 2019, a juried exhibition up until March 30, 2019.
